Sally123,
just seen the quote in your signature attributed to Maya Angelou.

I don't know if you're aware of her. I'm not, so I looked her up. You may enjoy some more of her quotes

Thankyou JC. I spotted the quote on twitter, I replied and said I really liked the quote, I asked if it was ok to use it, the person who did the quoting ," favourited" my reply tweet. No word of the real author of my signature quote, so I purposely haven't used his name, while I explained, how i gave the credit to the wrong person .
I did enjoy Maya's other quotes, particulary "I may suffer with the pains I have, but I don't have to be one" (think thats right)
Quote name now corrected. - proper order :D

Sally, if you haven't already read it, may I recommend I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings I suspect you would really enjoy it - as would anyone else who enjoys a good literary autobiography - written by a poet, with lots of vivid, evocative, description it recounts surviving (well) quite a lot of suffering, but also good times. It is a good, involving, read: not in the least sentimental, or pious and it is genuinely informative about growing up black in the American Deep South, in the 1930s.
